White Wash Acrylic 6 x 6 by John K. Harrell

$200.00 + $10.00 S/H

I love the subject matter of this little gem. The only real contrast in the whole composition is the color of her hair. A very light value painting that captures the magnificent lighting and the easy going nature of the beach.

Cherry 7 x 5 Acrylic by John K. Harrell

SOLD

Nature can be such an inspiration for so many things especially a painting. The blossoms this spring were so stunning and fragrant. I can see why the bees love them so much. I was trying to capture some of my bees on these flowers but they were to fast for me to catch them in action with my camera. So the painting is a portrait of just the cherry blossoms at their peak.

Province Garden 5 x 7 Acrylic Floral Landscape in Provincetown MA

SOLD

The flower gardens in Provincetown were amazing. I was quite taken with the lush beautiful hydrangeas. The colors were so Walt Disney bright the challenge for me was painting them and making them look believable. Quite the fun experience!

Cardinal Red 6 x 6 Acrylic Winter Bird Painting

SOLD

$125.00 + $10.00 S/H

I have many great friends and clients who graciously share their photographs with me to use as inspiration for my paintings. This is one such gift. My friend Susan sent me this one and I fell in love with it. I haven't had the pleasure of seeing a Cardinal in real life, but after painting this one I can't wait to meet one face to face.

A Field of Geese Acrylic 5 x 7 Rural Landscape Painting

$125.00 + $10.00 S/H

I never know what is going to catch my eye and I try not to question it either. I don't typically paint geese, but they were in this field of tall grass and just the way the light was hitting them made them a good subject for a painting!

Italy Red 5 x 7 Acrylic Urban Landscape of Italy

SOLD

Unique cars always seem to catch my eye and this one was no different. Having the back drop of Florence, Italy didn't hurt either. I enjoyed getting the brilliant reds of the car to be the focus of this painting.

A Wool Blend Acrylic 6 x 6 Farm Animal Painting

SOLD

I was just thumbing through some of my pictures from various road trips through Colorado and came upon a few photographs of sheep. I saw this one and knew it was the one to paint today. I'm finding that painting animals is becoming quite a passion for me. This is somewhat surprising to me because I am such a city boy.

What's Up? 6 x 6 Acrylic Figurative Landscape Painting

SOLD

Nothing is more heart warming than to watch children playing. These two boys were captivated with a plastic bottle and what the ocean waves could do to it. I had to capture their joy on canvas.

A Somber Moment 6 x 6 Acrylic Water Scape of Boats

SOLD

I continue to be intrigued by the nuances of reflections, and when I get the opportunity to paint them I take it. The evening light bathed the floating boats with such a somber reflective light I had to capture it in paint.

Care Free 7 x 5 Acrylic Figurative Water Scape Painting

SOLD

I enjoy painting the figure especially when I can capture an act so simple as a child playing on the beach. The common becomes the uncommon in certain situations and that is what I always strive to portray in my work.
