When ever I get the opportunity to travel to different cities I take full advantage of my camera and capture fantastic scenes to paint. This is no exception. Element vs Man 6 x 6 Acrylic Urban Landscape by Denver Artist John K. Harrell

SOLD

This is another loose interpretation of an urban composition in Denver Colorado. Using both the hard edges of the street car and the detail of the figure to off set the looseness of the back ground make for an electric painting.

A Field of Geese Acrylic 5 x 7 Rural Landscape Painting

$125.00 + $10.00 S/H

I never know what is going to catch my eye and I try not to question it either. I don't typically paint geese, but they were in this field of tall grass and just the way the light was hitting them made them a good subject for a painting!

What's Up? 6 x 6 Acrylic Figurative Landscape Painting

SOLD

Nothing is more heart warming than to watch children playing. These two boys were captivated with a plastic bottle and what the ocean waves could do to it. I had to capture their joy on canvas.

A Somber Moment 6 x 6 Acrylic Water Scape of Boats

SOLD

I continue to be intrigued by the nuances of reflections, and when I get the opportunity to paint them I take it. The evening light bathed the floating boats with such a somber reflective light I had to capture it in paint.

Fall Splendor 6 x 6 Acrylic Colorado Landscape Painting by artist John K. Harrell

SOLD

Painting from essentially my own back yard is quite a treat. This is a scene from Kenosha Pass in Colorado. I live in the city of Denver but, with 45 minutes I can be taking pictures of such beautiful scenery such as this. How fortunate I am.

Fuscia 7 x 5 Acrylic Urban Landscape Painting with Figure

SOLD

I never know when I sit down to paint what I'm going to be inspired by that day. In this case it was the urban environment but more so the figure waiting to cross the street. Her clothing and umbrella dominated the composition making the city take a back seat. I quite like that.

Tuscan Summer Acrylic 5 x 7 Tuscany Landscape Painting

SOLD

I don't believe I have ever felt so alive as when I was in Italy. It was a feast for my senses as a human being and an artist. This painting captures the bright summer light cascading over the rolling hills of Tuscany. I can still remember how wonderfully fresh it smelt and and unbelievably quite. A perfect day! John K.
