Nothing is more heart warming than to watch children playing. These two boys were captivated with a plastic bottle and what the ocean waves could do to it. I had to capture their joy on canvas.

Fuscia 7 x 5 Acrylic Urban Landscape Painting with Figure

SOLD

I never know when I sit down to paint what I'm going to be inspired by that day. In this case it was the urban environment but more so the figure waiting to cross the street. Her clothing and umbrella dominated the composition making the city take a back seat. I quite like that.

Girl Power 5 x 7 Acrylic Figurative Beach Painting

 SOLD

I very much enjoy painting figures in the landscape especially children. The beach is a great place to find children having unabashed fun in the water. I find capturing their exuberance the artistic challenge! John K. Harrell Fine Art Daily Impressionist Painters

I don't believe I have ever felt so alive as when I was in Italy. It was a feast for my senses as a human being and an artist. This painting captures the bright summer light cascading over the rolling hills of Tuscany. I can still remember how wonderfully fresh it smelt and and unbelievably quite. A perfect day! John K.
