Ruby Red Acrylic 5 x 7 Hummingbird Painting

SOLD

Spring has sprung here in Denver and I am in the mood to paint anything that reminds me of that fact. I'm going to become a beekeeper in about two weeks and I've been deliberating on what I wanted to paint on my hives to make them special. So one of them is going to be forever known as the Hummingbird Hive. This little fella is going to be adorned on the front of the hive with a little buddy and some Geraniums. I will post a picture of the hive when its completed.

An Urban Storm 4 x 8 Acrylic Urban Landscape Painting

SOLD

Spring has sprung, but I had to paint one more snow scene. I just loved all the atmosphere with the snow in the air and the way it created the spheres around the street lights. I don't know if the subjects in the painting were having as much fun as I was taking pictures in the storm but hopefully they were having a good day none the less.

I'm particularly excited by the challenge of capturing a mood in the landscape. On this day it was snowing, but it hadn't started sticking to the ground yet, so I had good reflections to work with. Between the low clouds and the slushy snow fall I had a lot of atmosphere to choose from. I'm pleased with the result of today's painting effort.
