When I was visiting Italy I was captivated by much of the architecture, and for some unknown reason specifically doors. Maybe because they were more accessible at eye level. Whatever the reason, I took a multitude of pictures and now I am starting to paint some of them. This beautiful rusted specimen was in Sienna Italy. If this door could only speak! Maybe it does, what do you think?

I have so many friends in Washington that encouraged me to visit these tulip fields. They were so right. An incredible site and experience to say the least. It's a challenge to put so much color in the landscape, but trust me it was there. A feast for the eye!

Lucy 6 x 6 Acrylic Pet Portrait

I have completed quite a few pet portraits in the last few weeks. These portraits are becoming some of my favorite subjects to paint for two reasons. The first being the challenge of capturing the essence of the subject and secondly,experiencing the reaction of the client when they see the finished work. Both are exhilarating! This little lady is Lucy, a Shih Tzu.

Poppy Field 5 x 7 Acrylic Landscape Painting

Here is simplified interpretation of a poppy field in the South of France. I plan to paint a larger version of this soon for an up coming show at Brushstrokes Studio. The show is called "Painting with Passion" and will showcase work using the color red just in time for Valentine's Day!
