Joey Acrylic 5 x 7 Pet Portrait
SOLD
This little fella was just eight weeks old. He is such a cute subject for a portrait. A very good client of Brushstrokes Studio Gallery commissioned me to do this painting for a friend of hers as a gift. She loved the finished product and I hope her friend does as well.

Bee Bounty 6 x 6 Acrylic Painting of a Honey Bee on a Cone Flower
SOLD
My yard is full of blooming flowers right now and the bees love the Coneflowers. Painting these intimate images is opening a whole new world to me. Just the way the seeds in the cone flower line up in rows is fascinating not to mention how much the bee liked foraging on it.

About to Take Flight 5 x 7 Acrylic Painting of a Honey Bee
Here is another painting of my honey bees. This little lady was on the fountain getting a drink of water. She flew off just after taking this picture. They are such interesting creatures. I am doing a show based on animals here at my gallery in Denver opening the first Friday in October. The name of the show is "All Creatures Great and Small" I just have to include a larger work of one of my bees in that collection of paintings.

Honey Bee 6 x 6 Acrylic Painting of a Honey Bee
This is another painting in a series I am doing on my honey bees. All the worker bees are female so I know this portrait is of a little lady of one of my hives. Quite cute actually and fascinating to learn about. Hopefully, you see the beauty in them as much as I do. The next painting will have them on some of the flowers in my garden.

The Bees Knees 6 x 6 Acrylic Painting of a Honey Bee
SOLD
My new passion is beekeeping. It's my first year keeping bees and I have an apiary of four hives. With all these bees in my back yard it was inevitable that they would become the subjects of some of my paintings. This little lady was posing on my fountain just waiting for me to take her picture. I love the light illuminating her body. I see many more paintings with bees as my focus. Enjoy the world of bees through an artist's eyes!

Mountain Brook 7 x 5 Acrylic Mountain Landscape
There is nothing more refreshing and exhilarating than the sound of a mountain brook. The bubbling water making its way down the mountain and cutting its way through the spring snow. Pure nature and quite fun to paint.

Sunflower Compliment 7 x 5 Acrylic Floral Painting

This is the time of year for sunflowers. I simply love the back drop of the blue Colorado sky with the buttery yellow of the sunflower.
