On one of my many excursions to Mexico resulted in some wonderful pictures of the quaint towns. This one happens to be Puerta Vallarta near the town square. Mexico is so charming and the people very friendly that doing a painting of my experiences down there bring back such good memories.

I have been challenged by my studio mates Kit and Anita to paint something totally outside of the box from what I traditionally paint. That would be still life subjects. I grew up drawing and painting still life's with my Father and Grandmother but haven't shown much interest in them as a professional. I have to admit that I had fun with today's painting.

Painting again in my own back yard. I love to travel but there is so much to explore in Denver and I know that finding something new to paint will not be a problem.This painting is of the 16th Street Mall. When it rains here I am down there in a flash with my camera. It's the only place I have found that people walk with their umbrellas and I can catch their reflections. With all the shimmering life of the lights this painting just glows.

I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all the collectors who bought paintings week before last who helped raise $1500.00 for Haiti. I sold a total of 15 paintings and have donated all of the proceeds to the American Red Cross. I could not have accomplished this on my own. The people of Haiti and myself really appreciate all the support of my generous collectors.

For the next few weeks I thought I would do paintings from some of my travels. This week I will concentrate on Mexico. I have vacationed many times in that beautiful country and love the people and its culture immensely. Today's daily painting is from the beaches of Puerta Vallarta. The sand and surf are beautiful and this outdoor cafe on the beach was empty for the time being but the impact of the scenery wasn't. Enjoy!
